A fine Paris-Vincennes Saturday card (March 25) had two groupe level contests on tap. In the Gr. III Prix du Bois de Vincennes (purse 90,000€, 2850 meters for 4–11-year-old International eligibles) the 1.8/1 favorite Hussard du Landret (6m Bird Barker-Anakinda Bellay) raced on the front and held on to win by a nose for owner/trainer/driver Benoit Robin.
This was his eighth career win now for 695,500€ earned. Race time was 1.13.7kr with a fast final 500 off rated fractions (1.13.9kr with 1500 meters remaining; 1.13.9 at the 1000 and 1.14.9kr with 500 to go). Hokkaido Jiel (6m Brillantissime-Victory Jiel) was second for David Thomain after a superbly fast finish. J.L. Dersoir trains this Ecurie Luck owned speedster. 6.5/1 Usain Toll (7g Googoo Gaagaa-Cotton Waste) advanced along the pegs for third with Alexandre Abrivard up for Scuderia Santese Srl and trainer Vitale Ciotolo.
The well regarded Copsi finished sixth and Frisbee D’Am, Decoloration and Elvis du Vallon were dq’s.
Between the groupe tests was the fast class Prix Jean Cabrol (purse 75,000€, 2700 meters for European 6–11-year-olds) and 5.7/1 Gamay de L’Iton (7m Bird Parker-Stortyy de L’Iton) prevailed easily timed in 1.12.4kr on the front end.
Francois Lagadeuc teamed the 12 time winner of now 416,480€ for trainer Hughes Levesque and owner Ecurie de L’Iton. Falco d’Havaroache (8g First de Retz-Pin Up des Obeaux) trailed the winner with Eric Raffin aboard for trainer/owner J.M. Baudouin. Third to the line was 37/1 outsider Fela Rejy (7m Atlas de Joudes) racing with shoes on and reined by Th. Chalon for trainer Christophe Chalon.
In the Gr. III Prix de Chatillon (purse 70,000€, 2700 meters for European three-year-old females) that completed the card, Kyrielle (3f Enino du Pommereux-Vahine du Goutier) took a first up journey to victory timed in 1.16.5kr reined by owner/trainer William Bigeon. This was the winning filly’s second career win good for 88,870€ in life earnings.
The 1.6/1 favorite Konfiree (3f Bilibilli-Chanson d’Amour) was a half-length back second with Alexandre Abrivard teaming for trainer L.C. Abrivard and breeder/owner Jean Pierre Barjon. Third was Kelicia Josselyn (3f Follow You-Venus Josselyn) at 16/1 reined by Anthony Barrier for trainer J.P. Raffegeau and owner Thierry Massicot.
The beaten field included Karlotta Dry (3f Follow You), Last Chance (3f Southwind Frank) and Esperia CR (3f Ready Cash-Tentation Ans-Muscles Yankee) that rallied strongly In late stretch for J.P Dubois.
