The 12/1 outsider Kapaula de L’Epine (3f Discours Joyeux-Paula Jin) performed like a harness racing favorite Friday (Nov. 3) at Paris-Vincennes to easily win the Gr. II monte Prix Louis Tillaye (purse 120,000€, 2700 meters, nine three-year-old open starters) timed in 1.14.9kr off slow early fractions.
Mathieu Mottier was the winning jockey for owner/trainer J.G. Van Eeckhaute as Kapaula won for only the second time in her 27-race career now for 127,190€ earned. Karla de Mai (3f Bold Eagle-Vivolta) rallied for second with Guillaume Martin in the irons for trainer Bruno Bourgoin, but four lengths from the winner. Karla was 21/1 and bested third finishing 6.2/1 Kyrielle des Vaux (3f Rolling d’Heripre) with Guillaume Lenain her jockey for trainer Charley Mottuer. Fourth was 7.1/1 Kelanie Lubraine (3f Eridan) for Paul Philippe Ploquin.
