Mack de Blary rallies to €120,000 Gr. II victory

A fine field of two year olds contested today’s Gr. II Prix Emmanuel Margouty (purse 120,000€, 2700 meters, 12 starters) at Vincennes. The 1.3/1 odds favorite Mack de Blary (2m Face Time Bourbon-Hermione de Blary-Sam Bourbon) scored in 1.15.0kr with a strong stretch rally driven by Theo Duvalsdestin for owner Philippe Beauvisage and trainer Thierry Duvaldestin.

The winner recorded his fourth victory in five outings for 98,075€ earned. Maestro River (2m Galius-Viva Saint Paul-Prodigious) was a game second at 2.3/1 odds with Eric Raffin aboard for trainer Sebastien Guarato and breeder/owner Gerard Manzi. Magnum du Choquel (2m Hohneck-Pupinee de Timbia-Goetmals Wood) was third at 41/1 odds with Francois Lagadeuc driving for trainer Nicolas Bridault and owner Bruno Bridault. May Manathis (2m Booster Winner) and Marathon Man (2m Prodigious) followed the top three.

In the Gr. II Prix de Mansle (purse 70,000€, 2100 meters autostart, 11 European three year olds at the start) the 7/10 odds favorite Lapis Lazuli (3m Ready Cash-Early Star-Rocklyn) scored timed in 1.12.5kr with Jean Miche Bazire driving the five time winner of 137,985€ for trainer Nicolas Bazire and Ecurie des Charmes the breeder/owner.

Learn To Fly (3m Uriel Speed-Santanna Girl) was a close second at 8.8/1 odds with Eric Raffin handling the Frederic Senet trainee for Michele Stihl the owner and breeder. Next to the line was 11/1 odds Leader des Joudes (3g Express Jet-Namastee)  with Clement Duvaldestin aboard for Philippe Beauvisage who owns this Thierry Duvaldestin trainee. Lash Perrine (3m Django Riff) and Funky Roc (3m Nad Al Sheba) followed the first three.

The Prix Michel Thurry (purse 75,000€, 2100 meters autostart, 12 European starters ages 6-10) was next and 4.6/1 odds Self Explosive (9g Explosive Matter-Lacoste Bi) recorded his sixth win in France with an impressive 1.10.6kr timed coast to coast score. Benjamin Rochard teamed the Vitale Ciotola trainee for L&N Elfving as the winner advanced his earnings to 357,895€.

Gilmour (8g Tag Wood-Roxane Nova) was second at 29/1 odds with Yoann Lebourgeois driving for Daniel Delaroche the trainer and owner. Gipsy de Charmant (8f Quaro-Pepsie de Charmant) was third at 17/1 with P-Y Verva the trainer/driver. Charmy Charly As (6g Charly du Noyer) and Invictus Madiba (6m Booster Winner) were next to the line.

Finally the Gr. III Prix Oscar Collard (purse 80,000€, 2100 meters autostart, 11 European starters ages 4-5) saw 6/10 odds favorite Working Class Hero (5m Village Mystic-Magnesia) win his second straight at Vincennes timed in 1.11.4kr and driven by Mathieu Mottier. Jorgen Westholm trains this four time winner in six starts in France for Stall Frena AB. His earnings advanced to 250,047€.

Edgar Saba (4g Exploit Caf) was second at 6.3/1 odds with Francois Lagadeuc aboard for trainer H.E. Bondo and Vaporino Srl. The 6.2/1 Desiderio  d’Esi (5m Robert Bi) took third as Matthieu Abrivard pioted the Vitale Ciotolo trainee. Dana EK (5f Vivid Wise As) and Rikita JP (4f Mister JP) were next to the line.
