On North American harness racing tracks it’s all about speed over a mile trip, in Australia it’s a mix of both standing start and mobile features across a range of track sizes, in New Zealand it could be about an extreme two-mile contest or a grass track race featuring non-race winners and in Europe the champion trotter is celebrated as a king of the track.
In Harnesslink Race Replays of the Week we bring you a snapshot into the very best contests from around the harness racing tracks of the world.
NEW ZEALAND REPLAY
Bruce Stewart covered a smart type recently when Built For Glory did all the donkey work and still pressed on to win well in the Cardrona Distillery Stakes at Gore, the event, which was run on the all-weather surface turned into a two horse war in the straight with built For Glory and Miraculous setting down to an old fashioned hoof fight through the last furlong. In the end the Telfer trained runner proved a little too classy in the run to the line.
CANADIAN REPLAY
Nicholas Barnsdale reported on a horse you’ll want to follow on Saturday when Hollywood Deo once again proved himself, winning at Woodbine Mohawk Park to extend an unbeaten run. The Robert Young trained son of Captaintreacherous is now 3/3 and is starting to pay back connections after being purchased for over $300’000 at the yearling sales. You can watch the 1.55.3 victory below.
AUSTRALIAN REPLAY
Tony Milanese reported on one of the Maitland Clubs main features on Friday when the Inter City Pace took place for the 62nd time! The history behind the race surely an attraction for the more than 4000 who turned up to watch the action. The 2024 running attracted a nice field with a progressive Shes Sweet Louise proving too slick for race rivals. The win continues a charmed run for the mare who is proving hard to beat currently.
