Down Under Winners from North America – 11th April

Funatthebeach (Somebeachsomewhere), the defending Borgata Pacing Series harness racing champion, became the latest millionaire when he won a $50,000 third leg of the series at Yonkers Raceway on Monday night (April 3). 

Despite sitting parked throughout, the Somebeachsomewhere gelding powered away to win by 3-1/2 lengths in 1:50.8.

On the same card, the NZ bred Hemsworth lowered the boom on Lochinvar Art when he outsprinted him in another leg of the Borgata. The Sweet Lou gelding clocked 1:52.2 and has now won 16 races and $US128,011. 

Brilliant Western Teror mare Doug’s Babe claimed her second $40,000 division of the Blue Chip Matchmaker Series at Yonkers Raceway on Friday night (April 7), edging out Amazing Dream NZ in 1:53.4. 

The NZ bred trotter Mistercool Sea Eyre scored his most important success in the $31,500 Step Up To Plate Claiming Series Final at Saratoga Raceway on Monday (April 3). 

The 10-year-old The Pres gelding led from end-to-end in 1:58. 

American Tour, an American Ideal mare, went coast-to-coast in a $17,500 split of the Step Up To The Plate Claiming Series in 1:54.6 at Saratoga Raceway on Tuesday (April 4). 

Captain Crusader (by Captaintreacherous) earned a new speed badge of 1:51 winning a $20,000 Open at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Friday (April 7), while Kickupyaheels (by A Rocknroll Dance) equalled her lifetime mark of 1:51.4 scoring on the same card.
