Down Under Winners from North America – 24th January

Nandolo, a NZ bred son of Betterthancheddar, lowered his lifetime mark by 1.4 seconds when he outsprinted his harness racing rivals in the $34,500 Preferred at Meadowlands, New Jersey on Sunday afternoon (Jan 22) in 1:48.6. 

The eight-year-old’s effort was the first sub 1:50 mile of the season.  He now has 23 wins from 91 lifetime starts and a bankroll of $542,110.

The Bettor’s Delight mare The Stunning Nun bounced back into the winning list with an emphatic come-from-behind effort at Batavia Downs, New York on Thursday (January 19). 

The mare took full advantage of the pocket trip to score by half a length in 1:58.4 on a sloppy track. 

Vespa, a seven-year-old Mach Three gelding, posted his first win in North America at Meadowlands on Saturday night, clocking 1:51.4.
