Down Under Winners from North America – 7th May

Majorca, a Kiwi bred daughter of Art Major, completed back-to-back wins when she led throughout in 1:53.4 in a $22,500 Mares Open at Harrington Raceway on Tuesday (April 30).  It was her 33rd lifetime harness racing success. 

MAJORCA REPLAY

Starting from the rail, the Western Australian bred gelding Alta Engen (Alta Christiano) led throughout to win the $12,200 feature at Buffalo Raceway on Saturday (May 4) in a season’s best 1:54.2. The win lifted his lifetime stake tally to beyond $US225,000. 

Captain Crusader, a six-year-old by Captaintreacherous, shaved 0.2 off his previous mark when he clocked 1:49.4 winning a $20,000 race at The Meadowlands on Saturday. He was bred by Doug and Janet Moore’s Brooklyn Lodge stud and the Laspina family. 

Mea Culpa, a NSW bred son of Art Major, charged home down the outside to capture the $16,000 Open Handicap in 1:53.4 at Tioga Downs on Sunday (May 5). It was his 20th career victory.
