Win, lose or draw, Cran Dalgety won’t be offering up any excuses at Addington on Thursday night.
Dalgety and wife Chrissie start three runners including Casino Action (Bettor’s Delight) who has clinched a key starting spot in the first heat of the Sires Stakes Series.
Age group racing feature racing will officially get underway when the Dalgety trained gelding clashes with Sires Stakes Final favourite Franco Indie.
Drawing barrier 2 should give Casino Action every chance he needs if he is to complete the massive task of turning the tables on his main rival following their clash at Addington two weeks ago.
“After drawing 8 in his last two starts it’s quite nice to lob a handy spot (barrier 2) and hopefully we can make full use of it,” Dalgety said.
“He has been sharp out of the gate before, so hopefully we can use it to our advantage.”
“Franco Indie will be hard to beat, but with our advantage at the start we will get our chance if we are good enough.”
“With two runs back he is fit and ready to rumble and I am expecting a top two or top three performance.”
The Dalgety stable also start another quality two-year-old on the Addington card in Republican Party (Bettor’s Delight).
The pacer looks ready to make up for an interrupted past season judging by his trials ahead of race 10.
From another sweet starting spot in barrier 1, Republican Party should take all sorts of catching.
“He has got plenty of speed there, the biggest worry at the start is if the mobile gets out of his way quick enough.”
“He is a nice horse, we have some bigger goals for him and this looks like a nice starting point.”
“If he races up to the way he has been trialling then I would expect him to be hard to beat.”
The Dalgety stable also starts Mitsi Gaynor in race 1.
Like her two stablemates, the filly has clinched a sweet draw in barrier 4.
“It’s just about the first time she’s had a decent draw in her life, so she won’t know herself.”
“I was happy with her last start, she got home nicely after being held up and the winner (Amore Vita) is a smart filly.”
“Her work has been good and she should get her chance to capitalise on Thursday night.”
Carter Dalgety takes the reins behind Mitsi Gaynor (Sweet Lou).
Blair Orange drives both Casino Action and Republican Party.
