Feature treble for Love You

Champion trotting sire Love You left important harness racing winners in three different countries in the first week of May.

Queen Elida NZ firmly established herself as the best mare in the country when she soundly trounced her rivals in the Group 1 $100,000 Trotters Mile in a career-best 1:53 at Menangle.

It was her fourth win on end and the 22nd from 39 lifetime starts for $479,325 in stakes.

In New Zealand, Matua Tana overcame a 30 metre handicap to capture the Listed $40,000 Trotters Classic at the Premier meeting at Addington, his 10th success to date.

While in Europe, the Love You gelding Vernissage Grif sat parked throughout in winning the Group 1 660,000 euros Gran Premio Lotteria at Naples, Italy for the second straight year in a new race record of 1:52 for the mile.

Other recent Love You winners have been the three-year-old filly Shesgold (Auckland, NZ), King’s Guard (Shepparton) and the Globe Derby Park victors Lovelorn and So Vogue.

Kivici, a son of Inter Dominion-winning sire Orlando Vici, became his sire’s 20th winner from only 23 starters when he outsprinted his opposition a Bendigo at his second appearance this season.

Meanwhile, Lucky Charm is carrying the flag for her sire Used To Me in Western Australia, notching her third success at Pinjarra. Used To Me has left 23 individual winners from 41 starters in Australia.

Love You, Orlando Vici and Used To Me are members of the Haras Des Trotteurs’ sire roster at Ballarat, Victoria.
