Harness racing hits Ashburton again today with nine races on the card. The racing starts at 5:12pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good night of racing.

Race 1

Saxon Reigns (5) Good last campaign and looks stronger now. Big chance fresh up in this
Clovelly Hill (12) Has experience and has been in good form. One of the better chances here
Bonjour Paris (8) Manners the key but has a decent motor. Place chance at longer odds

Race 2

Carrera Bravo (2) Just run down last start. Quick beginner who might lead again. Top selection
Spectator (5) Well drawn and has the speed to be one of the leaders. Short trip will suit here
Little Biddy (1) Freshened and stable respect here. Likely trail run and can go close in this

Race 3

Cyclone Zion W (6) Probably the best horse in this but can do things wrong. Manners needed
Our Evie Rae (2) Good draw and freshened. Can run top three if she trots all the way. Include
Call Me The Breeze (10) Very speedy but lacking race fitness. Good enough to run top three

Race 4

Sandy Shore (3) Big run on debut and will stick on with a good trip. Win hope at shorter odds
Shard De Arch (7) Getting better with racing and has trialed ok here. Nice top three chance
Heaven (1) Hardly ever out of the money in his last several starts. Top four beckons again here

Race 5

Take After Me (2) Inside draw will suit and races well on the track. Will race handy. Needed
Brian Beatt (5) Quick beginner who should lead at some stage. Might take some catching
Miss Gracie  (7) Coming in fresh. Has ability and top driver booked. One for longer odds

Race 6

Allets (5) Looked good last campaign. Stable in good form and looks a good win chance here
Rylee Maguire (6) Only fair last start but will be improved. Strong field but winning claims
Celestial Sea (2) Fresh up with stable respect and trial form. Not the worst with a good trip.

Race 7

Courtney Rose (7) Can run time and small field helps. Well suited here. Top selection in this
Major Happy (3) Freshened and at her best would threaten a win. Can run top three with luck
Judgement Bay (8) Has gate speed and might try for the front. Big chance if she gets the lead 

Race 8

Flo Motion (8) Ok run last start and races well here. Wide draw the only concern. Include
Kink (7) Back in the pacing game and not the worst at longer odds with a good trip. Place hope
Ned Kelly (11) Better than the form suggests. Will appreciate the bigger track and could surprise

Race 9

Keltic Tiger (3) Good enough to win with manners early. Quick finisher with one run at them
Radioactive Jaffa (9) Decent motor and a chance from the 10m handicap. Top three player
Beaudiene Quick Step (5) Ok run last start. Will continue to improve and place hope here

Race 10

Special Effects (8) Conditions suit and mobile helps. Good win chance in this at nice odds
Paramount Lady (5) Quick off the gate and better than most in this field. Can place again
Royal Diedre (10) Tricky draw but top driver might work his magic. Chance with gaps

Race 11

Wavewatcher (3) Likely leader who is getting better with racing. Winning claims in this
Don Juan (6) Not far away last start and another who will like the bigger track. Include
The Bettor Major (12) Looked unlucky last start and big straight will suit. Chance at odds
