Harness racing hits Westport again today with 12 races on the card. The racing starts at 12:00pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Race 1

Waterloo Station (4) Master trainer and looked good in recent trial. Winning claims with manners
Macho Man (2) Better run last start in a similar field. Should improve further and hard to beat here
Signal Hill (11) Did a nice job here last year and has placed at the workouts. Chance at longer odds

Race 2

Mary Rulz (9) Looks stronger this campaign and stable respect on the circuit. Top selection in this
Red Wine Kisses (3) Has had a few runs to get her fit. Look for an improved showing at nice odds
Racingmissgracie (2) Stable change and top driver booked. Top three chance here after tidy trials

Race 3

Elegant Achiever (4) Did ok here last year and recent runs have been ok. Better run expected here
Ideal Conqueror (6) Stable have a good record with first starters. One of the better chances in this
Rutherford (11) Has not had a lot of luck but fitter for recent racing. One for longer odds. Include

Race 4

Brandi Snapp (1) Solid form and a winning chance from the draw. Trainer will have her ready
My Skatjie (6) Tough run for third last start and grass no issues. Should give a good account here
She’s A Major Act (13) Has ability but tricky draw to contend with. Big chance with a cart into it

Race 5

Sideshow Bruce (11) Fought on last start and top driver booked. Top selection in this. Needed
Dance With The Boss (9) Tidy last start and well placed here. Good each way chance at longer odds
Franco Hoffman (7) Has raced well in better fields and grass suits. In the mix here at nice money

Race 6

Just Holla (1) Opened over the odds. Might go forward and hard to beat if he can find the front
He’s A Bay (9) Good stats and normally a quick beginner. Winning claims with a good run in transit.
Rapid Response (3). Driver change and should race handy to the speed. Good place chance here

Race 7

Solemn Son (1) Draw helps and in good form. Should be thereabouts with a good run in transit
Premium Player (4) Now beach trained and normally a quick beginner. Winning claims in this
Strike It Lucky (5) Looked useful last campaign. Upset claims if he can stay handy to the leaders

Race 8

Triple G (9) Looks well placed in this and has raced much better fields in the past. Winning claims
Got You Covered (7) No form but 2 miles on grass will suit. Top three claims with luck in running
Homebush Lad (10) Battled on well last start. Will continue to improve and win hope again here

Race 9

Millwood Goddess (5) Fitter for recent racing and notable driver change. Might head forward here
Changeforthebeta (2) Ok draw and due to show some form. Has to be respected in this at odds
Ruby’s A Delight (4) Mobile suits and can do some work mid race. Could surprise with luck

Race 10

El Conqueror (5) Mixed runs last couple but has win here and any rain helps. Include at longer odds
Masterly (6) Not far away the last few runs and quick beginner. Should run top three here. Needed
Tu Tangata (8) Better last start and small field will help. Will be running on here and can go close

Race 11

The Chase (8) Drops in grade for this. Wide draw hurts but can go close here with any luck. Include
Prince Teka (9) Has been disappointing but likes the track. Likely leader who will stick on here
Ginas Majesty (1) No form but due to fire up. Place hope at longer odds with a quick beginning  

Race 12

Don Juan (3) Won here last year and grass is his happy place. Driver change and top selection in this.
Always Bee Gee (1) Drawn to get a soft run on the pegs. Winning claims with a trail in the running
Krystal Delight (10) Placed three times on the track and should get an ideal trip. Winning claims
