Tonight (Sep. 22) at Addington, showing a blistering turn of foot rarely seen from a three year old trotting filly, Hidden Talent (Bacardi Lindy) won the Group Three Canterbury Spa and Pool Siresā Stake Classique.
From barrier nine trainer harness racing driver Nathan Williamson took Hidden Talent back while the front end of the race had a number of lead changes.
Realising he wasnāt going to get a drag into the race inside the last 500 metres, Williamson brought the filly four wide as she headed out of the last bend. She was still five lengths off the leader, but once he pulled the ear plugs Hidden Talent changed up a gear and powered home to win by three quarters of a lengths from the Phil Williamson trained Majestic Love.
āI went a bit wider than necessary for the fact that they would probably come out underneath me. I didnāt want to switch ground when she was quickening up. I wasnāt super confident she would finish the race off like that tonight but I was thrilled that she did,ā Williamson said after the run.
HIDDEN TALENT REPLAY
Both Hidden Talent and Majestic Love are raced by the Griffins Syndicate.
āTheyāve left things up to me. The more patient I was with Dark Horse (her full sister) the better she was and itās worked out like that with his filly.ā
Hidden Talent is out of the Sundon mare Juliana. The syndicate have raced most of Julianaās progeny which have now won a remarkable fifty four races. Sarah Palin (10), Monty Python (15), Father Christmas (11), Dark Horse (14), Arc De Triomphe (1) and Hidden Talent (3).
The Bacardi Lindy filly, has provided Nathan with his first group trotting win and has now won three from three. The Southland Oaks on October 7th at Ascot Park and the New Zealand Trotting Oaks at Addington on 25th November are likely targets for the very talented Southern filly.
āSheāll run in the Southland Oaks and then have a wee break.ā
