Batavia, NY — When live racing resumes at Batavia Downs on Monday (Jan. 30) at 3 p.m. all eyes will be on harness racing driver Jim Morrill Jr. and his countdown to 8,000 lifetime wins.
Morrill is currently seven shy of that mark and has a legitimate shot of achieving that goal Monday. He is scheduled to drive in all 13 races and will steer the morning line favorite in many of those outings.
Morrill has won seven races in one session on more than one occasion in the past at Batavia and holds the track record for wins on a single card with eight (shared with John Cummings Jr.).
There will be two carryovers on Monday and one guaranteed pool available on the betting menu.
First there is a $4,741 carryover in the Pick-5 (which starts in race one) and Batavia Downs has announced that the pool will have a $10,000 guarantee through the United States Trotting Associationās Strategic Wagering Program. Complete program pages for those races are available on the USTAās website under the āHandicappingā tab.
Then there is also a growing carryover of $1,322 in the Jackpot Super Hi-5 pentafecta which will be available in the 13th race.
Free full card past performance forms for the entire card of live racing at Batavia Downs can always be downloaded at the Downsā website here under the āLive Racingā tab and all the racing action can be viewed as it happens at the Batavia Downs Live Facebook page.
