Bondi Shake N (Somebeachsomewhere, Austin Siegelman) won the $12,000 harness racing Preferred Handicap pace at Freehold Raceway on Saturday afternoon (Dec. 2).
Saranac Blue Chip (Jack Pelling) left the gate first, right alongside Like A Shadow (Eric Abbatiello). As they approached the opening quarter mile in :26.3, Like A Shadow had the lead, with Lyons Steel (Tyler Miller) pressing forward from the outside in second. Saranac Blue Chip was racing in third.
Lyons Steel stole the lead, leaving Like A Shadow in second and Saranac Blue Chip in third as they passed the half mile in :55.1.
Lyons Steel had the lead by two lengths over Like A Shadow as they came around the turn, but Saranac Blue Chip quickly rushed to challenge the leader from the outside. Saranac Blue Chip took the lead as they passed the three quarter mile in 1:24.2.
Midway around the final turn, Bondi Shake N moved to take the lead, leaving Saranac Blue Chip in second and Haggard (Vincent Ginsburg) racing in third. From the outside, Haggard looked to challenge the leader, but Bondi Shake N crossed the wire first in 1:54. Haggard finished a head behind in second and Yo A J (Johnathan Ahle) came in third.

Bondi Shake N is a 6-year-old gelding trained by Leah Posner and owned by Austin Siegelman. He paid $5.40 to win.
Austin Siegelman and Vincent Ginsburg both had driving triples and Shaun Vallee had a training double.
