Some Deal Hanover bounced back from a break in the second leg and won Sunday’s $33,800 Gary Kamal Memorial Pace Final at Saratoga Raceway in first-over fashion.
The three-year-old American Ideal gelding tracked inside cover from fourth through the quarter in :27.2 and pulled first-up for driver Larry Staulbaum before hitting the half in :56.3. The gelding made steady inroads and struck the front at three-quarters in 1:25. Former leader Disneyman (Jim Devaux) fought on at the pylons, but Some Deal Hanover continued pushing and got the job done in 1:54.2. Manholmes (Brett Beckwith) closed for place; Disneyman held third.
