Grove City, OH – The Buckeye Stallion Series returns to MGM Northfield Park Monday night with seven harness racing divisions of the 2-year-old colt pace. Each division will go for a purse of $17,500.
A total of 60 horses will compete Monday night. Western Ready with Aaron Merriman for Brian Brown has recorded the best time of the entered horses. The gelded son of Western Vintage out of My My Marie took a mark of 1:52.4 at The Red Mile on July 4.
Another speedy performer is Dirge a gelding by McArdle out of Majestic Blue Chip with a mark of 1:55.1 at Scioto Downs on July 4th. Cameron McCown is scheduled to drive for Brian Brown. In the fourth race.
Brown, Ron Burke, Jason McGinnis, Mike Medors, Mike Micallef, Ryan Miller and Virgil Morgan Jr. will each send three starters to the gate. A total of 41 trainers will send horses to the post.
Fear The Dragon leads the way on the sires list, with eleven entered while there will be nine Downbythesesside and five each from McArdle and Racing Hill. A total of sixteen sires are represented in the seven races.
The Buckeye Stallion Series resumes Wednesday night at Northfield Park with the two-year-old- filly pacers. Six races are scheduled with a total of 51 fillies entered.
MGM Northfield Park is scheduled with a first race post time of 6:00 pm.
