Monticello, NY—The 2-5 favorite Caroline James (Riggins) captured her third straight harness racing victory in the $5,400 pace at Monticello Raceway on Monday afternoon (Sept. 18).
Caroline James (Bruce Aldrich Jr) took the early lead right out of the gate. From the far outside, Princess Brisa (Jim Taggart Jr) stole the lead as they made their way around the first turn. Aryiana Star (Kyle Dibenedetto) was following in second. Caroline James rushed to pass Aryiana Star and challenge the leader as they passed the quarter-mile mark in :28.3.
Caroline James was leading the way with Princess Brisa in the pocket spot in second. Aryiana Star followed closely in third. At the half mile in :59, Rhodatoldme and Brandon Parker moved up to battle Princess Brisa.
Caroline James was holding onto the lead, with Princess Brisa following in second and Rhodatoldme parked first over in third. As they passed the three-quarter mile mark in 1:28.1, Caroline James was still in front over Princess Brisa. Hurrikanemyshannon and Justin Huckabone started to make their way to the front from the far outside.
Caroline James crossed the wire first in 1:58. Princess Brisa was second and Hurrikanemyshannon finished in third.

Caroline James is a 5-year-old mare owned by Gary Haas and trained by Laura Aldrich. She paid $2.80 to win.
