Monticello, N.Y. – After scoring in the Open Pace three weeks ago, Cheyenne Ryan Lee returned to the winner’s circle in the weekly battle of the best pacers on the grounds at Monticello Raceway on Tuesday, August 10.
Defending Open winner Camwood was first off the gate from post 5 with Cory Stratton. After he finally cleared and got to the front, Epaulette A was not content to sit the pocket. Bruce Aldrich Jr. pulled the right line to take the lead right back, approaching the quarter pole in 28.3.
Approaching the half, Cheyenne Ryan Lee vacated the 3 hole and came first over past the half in 58:0, followed by PH Kenny and Kyle Dibenedetto.
Epaulette A still led the pack to the ¾ in 1:26.2. Coming off the last turn fist over, the animated Luke Hanners urged Cheyenne Ryan Lee to the lead to score a one-length win over Epaulette A in 1:54.4.
