Monticello, NY— The favorite Chip Chip Conway (Conway Hall, Jim Taggart Jr) won the $6,500 harness racing Open trot at Monticello Raceway on Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 15).
Chip Chip Conway took the early lead, followed by Consus Victory (Kyle Dibenedetto) racing in second and Raceace (Jim Devaux) in third. They passed the first quarter mile in :29.3. They were in the same positions as they reached the half mile in :59.3, with Backstreet Player (Michael Merton) challenging Raceace for third.
Chip Chip Conway led the way by two lengths over Consus Victory. From the outside, Backstreet Player was moving up in third. They passed the three-quarter mile in 1:29.1. From the outside, Cinnamon Stick (Gregory Merton) moved to the front to steal second.
Chip Chip Conway crossed the wire in 1:58.1, two quarter lengths ahead of Cinnamon Stick. Backstreet Player finished in third.

Chip Chip Conway is a 7-year-old gelding trained by Gary Messenger and owned and bred by Gary Messenger and Kenneth Weckstein. He paid $4.30 to win.
