Renowned equine veterinarian, Dr. Steven Allday, recently was the guest on XM radio's At The Races with Steve Byk and spoke about what Glaucine is, its effects on horses, what is going on with the positive tests for it in New York, if it can be found as a contaminant and how racing needs to carry a big stick in going after those using illegal drugs in racing and using horses as Guinea Pigs.

The Audio is attached and the discussion about Glaucine starts about two and half minutes into the show.

Dr. Allday (born 1957) is an equine veterinarian specializing in lameness and sports medicine. He lives on a farm in Simpsonville, Kentucky, just west of the bluegrass horse region. Allday is known for his work in the Thoroughbred and harness racing industries, primarily because of his association with several prominent equine patients and their trainers.

Dr. Allday has been the lameness specialist for an impressive lineup of equine legends including: thirteen Triple Crown Race Winners, twenty-nine Breeder’s Cup Races winners, and five Thoroughbred Horses of the Year. The best known champions include: A.P Indy, Cigar, Favorite Trick, Point Given, Saint Liam, and Palace Malice.

After graduating in 1985, Dr. Allday began his practice in upstate New York, where he worked alongside lameness specialist, Dr. Kenneth Seeber. Years later Dr. Allday moved his practice to Southern California, serving as a private veterinarian for Allen Paulson Racing. Here Dr. Allday got to work with numerous renowned Thoroughbred trainers such as Neil Drysdale and Alex Hassinger.

Shortly thereafter, Dr. Allday worked briefly as a private practitioner for a Toronto-based racing firm before finally moving to Kentucky, where he now practices from his farm in Shelbyville.

In addition to earning a reputation as one of the top equine veterinarians in the region, Dr. Allday also founded and developed the LubriSyn line of supplements, which include LubriSynHA, LubriSynLVS and Re-Borne. To learn more, visit Lubrisyn.com.
