HARRINGTON, DE – Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) action for 3-year-old harness racing trotters headlined the Wednesday (June 14) program with a quartet of $20,000 divisions.
Paleface (Anders Bluestone) and driver Ross Shand) sprung an upset in the 1st division on the card for owner Shirley Shand. Trained by his driver, Paleface started the initial male division with a front-end romp in 2:00 over Carl’s Legacy and Youngbuck. The 1-to-9 favorite, Perfect stride and finished 4th in the four-horse field. Paleface notched his 3rd win of the season. He paid Twenty, brokeĀ $11.00 to win.
PALEFACE REPLAY
In the 2nd split for male trotters, heavily favored Kodack Black (Kodak Lindy) and driver Montrell Teague didn’t disappoint with an easy front-end triumph in 1:59.4 over Reddy Fox and I Got It Made. The gelding recorded his 4th win of the season for trainer Clyde Francis and owners George Teague Jr., David Collins and Lakiya Teachey. He paid just $2.10 to win.
KODACK BLACK REPLAY
James Craparotta and Berry Racing’s Miss Daburg (Anders Bluestone) and driver Pat Berry won the first filly division in 1:59.2. It was the 3rd win of the year for the filly, trained by Traci Berry, who was a wire-to-winner over Lady Brass and Last Night’s Hit. She paid $3,20 to win.
MISS DABURG REPLAY
Jeff Clark’s She Is Strong (Anders Bluestone) and driver Art Stafford Jr. triumphed in the second filly division over Starlight Lounge and Lilmisswontbewrong in 2:00.1. The filly improved to 6-for-12 in her career with a wire-to-wire score for her trainer/driver. She paid just $2.10 to win.
SHE IS STRONG REPLAY
In the $20,000 Open Trot, the overnight feature, Arty Foster Jr.’s Northern Express ($5.20, Russell Foster) was victorious in front-stepping fashion in 1:56.2 over Quiksilvr Bluechip and Judge Bob. It was his second straight win and 5th on the year for his owner/trainer.
Allan Davis had 3 wins on the card.
The 2nd leg of DSBF stakes action will headline the June 19-21 racing at Harrington as racing will continue on a Monday through Wednesday schedule (post time 4:30 p.m.).
