Northfield, Ohio— Despite getting locked-in harness racing driver Eddie Miller found daylight in the deep
stretch and rallied Thisisshe to a 1:59.4 triumph in the $9,200 Great Lakes Amateur Drivers Association trot Sunday night at Northfield Park.
After starting from the pole Miller yielded command as Larry Ferrari zipped Impressive Chief to the lead which left Emerald Chip (Lauren Harmon) and Fingals Wave (Don Sherman) caught on the limb in a :29 second first quarter.
Ferrari grabbed leather and allowed Emerald Chip to take the lead and he led the field to the half in :58.1 with Fingals Wave still parked out. At the three quarters Emerald Chip was still battling Fingals Wave as Eddie Miller and Thisisshe were desperately looking for daylight.
Miller finally got a shot at the leaders in the stretch, and he strongly urged his mare and she responded. She had four lengths to make up before the finish which she did with a late rally when she charged past Emerald Chip before the finish line to score a head triumph in 1:59.4. Fingals Wave held on for the show dough.
