The connections of 2021 Breeders Crown winner Felicityshagwell S have announced that the trotting mare has been retired from racing and will be bred in 2022.
After five seasons of competing at the very highest international level, Felicityshagwell S (Maharajah ā Diaz Boko) retires with a record of 11-9-8 from 49 starts, $525,800 in earnings and a mark of 1:51.1 (BT 1:50.2). After three injury-plagued seasons in Sweden she moved to the stable of Ć ke Svanstedt in early 2020.
In her two North American seasons, she took a lifetime mark of 1:51.1 in Lexington in October 2020, but her greatest triumph is without a doubt her convincing win in the 2021 Breeders Crown Open Mare Trot.
Showing her characteristic gate speed, she blasted to the front and after a controlled first half, Ć ke and his adept handling were able to wire a very accomplished field that included Atlanta and When Dovescry.
According to owners Knutsson Trotting of Del Ray Beach, Florida,Ā Felicityshagwell SĀ will now be bred to Walner in 2022 and to Captain Corey in 2023.
