Rosecroft Raceway will conclude its Fall harness racing meet tonight, Thursday, December 22nd, with a 16-race card, highlighted by the $20,000 Maryland Pacing Derby.
Trainer Michael Hall will send out Can’t Beach That (Somebeachsomewhere), who has 15 wins on the year, from post six with Jonathan Roberts in the bike.
Roberts and Hall will be honored as the top driver and trainer at the meet respectively on the card. Starship drew the seven hole for Jason Thompson and will be looking for his 11th win of the year for trainer Bib Roberts.
Slick Tony, a 60-time winner in his career, will score from post one with John Wagner in the sulky. In order, other starters include, Jack Roger (Eric Davis), Full Send (Russell Foster), Fantastic Voyage (Jared Moyer) and Sea Of Life (Bryson Dunning). It will be race 14 on the card.
The wagering highlight of the card will be the Jackpot Hi-5 in race 10. The carryover stands at $35,257.66. The class dropping Globaldomination N is the 5-2 favorite for Roberts and Hall.
A $15,000 open for three- and four-year-old pacers goes as race 12 on the card. Danger Zone, who is 4-4 on the local scene since being acquired by trainer Bib Roberts, is the 5-2 morning line favorite.
A $1,376.40 pot is in place for the pick-5 wager which is races 7-11. The card will start at 6:45 eastern time and is expected to have a steady rain through the night in the forecast with temperatures in the upper 40’s to near 50 degrees.
