ANDERSON, IN –September 25, 2018— Hoosier Park Racing & Casino will host The Animal Protection League (APL) for the 5th annual Pet-Tacular Weekend featuring the start of a Give $10, Get $10 coupon booklet giveaway on Saturday, Oct. 6 featured by the FUR-long Walk in the Park on Sunday, Oct. 7.
Sunday's walk will include family-friendly activities including a walk around Hoosier Park's 7-furlong race track, pet contests, pet adoption opportunities, live entertainment, beer garden and more.
Beginning Saturday, Oct. 6, guests over the age of 21 can visit Club Centaur Rewards to donate a minimum of $10 to The APL. In return, they will receive $10 in free slot play and a free 2018 Animal Protection League Awareness Booklet with information about our pets in need and valuable area coupons. Booklets will be available through the end of the year, helping promote the mission of The APL.
The FUR-Long Walk in the Park on Sunday, Oct. 7 will start with registration at 11:00 a.m., and the walk will begin at Noon. The event will be located in The Yard and on Hoosier Park's race track. Guests, who are encouraged to bring their four-legged dogs, can register by making a donation to The APL or by registering for the walk on Sunday. Guests who make a minimum donation of $20 will receive a Pet-Tacular t-shirt.
The FUR-Long event will also feature free kids activities including obstacle courses, bounce houses, Pet-Tacular booths featuring unique items for sale, silent auction, pet adoption opportunities, and pet contests with a share of $500 for best Halloween costumes and best tricks.
Additionally, guests attending are encouraged to donate pet food, clay cat litter, or pine pellets. All donations will be matched pound for pound by Hoosier Park. Those wishing to make a donation directly to the APL can do so via www.inapl.org.

For the past six years, The APL and Hoosier Park Racing & Casino have partnered in raising awareness and funds to improve the care, and increase the adoption, of animals in need.
