Plainville, MA— Mitchell Cushing and Bruce Ranger had the hot hands in the harness racing sulky on Friday (June 20) afternoon at Plainridge Park after they both scored hat tricks during the card.

Cushing’s top steer was in the $13,000 Trackmaster event with Twin B Jays (Betterthancheddar), who went gate to wire in 1:53.4 by 2-¾ lengths to score his second consecutive win. Twin B Jays ($5.00) is owned by Kevin Gee and trained by Randy Bickmore.

Cushing also won with Get Along (1:55.1, $4.00) and Kokanee Seelster (1:53.2, $4.20).
Ranger flaunted dominance in an $11,000 Starter Allowance with Briar’s Desire, who led at every station before bolting home on top by 8-¾ lengths in 1:53.3, which was a new seasonal mark. Briar’s Desire ($11.40) is owned and trained by Irwin Rosenthal.
Ranger completed his trey with Bean Shooter (1:55.3, $13.40) and Alvin Brickrock (1:54.4, $6.20).
Live racing will resume at Plainridge Park on Monday (June 23) at 4 p.m. But please note that Tuesday’s (June 24) regularly scheduled card has been cancelled due to the forecasted high heat index.
