Leading harness racing driver Wally Hennessey drove four winners on the card including the featured $11,500 fillies & mares’ pace with Prairie Westerngal (Western Ideal) at Tioga Downs on Friday (September 9).
Prairie Westerngal ($3.60) went to the front and led to the quarter in :27.0. She used a :29.1 second quarter to be first to the half in :56.1. Alta Madeira N (Mike Merton) was first to make a move going first-over as they headed to the final turn. Prairie Westerngal reached three-quarters first in 1:24.2.
As they reached the stretch Prairie Westerngal had a short lead as So Diva (Mike Simons) snuck through on the inside and Abby Rose (Jim Taggert Jr.) came flying to make it three across. Prairie Westerngal dug in and won in 1:52.2. Abby Rose was second and So Diva finished third.
Prairie Westerngal is a is a 6-year-old mare owned by Patricia Fritz, Joel Warner, and trainer Mike Deters. It was her fifth win this season. She now has 27 career wins.

Hennessey’s other wins came with Abuelita Hanover ($3.20), Prairie Merida ($21.00), and Lilybet ($5.50).
Tioga Downs returns to Live racing on Saturday (September 10) featuring the New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) Day of Champions. Eight divisions race for a combined $1.6 million. The 10-race card starts at 1:00 p.m. The normal nighttime card featuring 10 race starts at 6:15 p.m.
