Letsgotoparis, I Stand Alone As chase third BSS win

Grove City, OH – In a loaded second-division harness racing field, Letsgotoparis (Mister Anson) and I Stand Alone As (Enterprise) will vie for their third Buckeye Stallion Series victory of the season as Eldorado Scioto Downs hosts the fourth leg for sophomore colt trotters on Friday (Aug. 15).

Three $20,000 divisions of the BSS are part of a 14-race card starting at 5:45 p.m.

Letsgotoparis (Kurt Sugg) opened as the slight 7-2 favorite in the second division. The Edward Miller trainee scored BSS wins in the second and third legs at MGM Northfield Park, the second of which came in a lifetime-best 1:56. The Mister Anson gelding has hit the board in nine of 10 seasonal starts with five wins. He has nine career victories and $68,815 in earnings.

The nine-horse field in the second division also includes two-time BSS winner I Stand Alone As and three others — Nelli Up, Smoke One For Me, and Tommy Count — who each have one BSS win on their resumes. Smoke One For Me (Dan Noble) shares 4-1 second choice status with Skyway Slick (Jason Beattie). Smoke One For Me scored a BSS victory in the second leg in 1:57. The Long Tom gelding is trained by Christi Noble and has seven wins and $53,115 in earnings in 21 lifetime starts. Skyway Slick has five wins in eight starts this season. The Long Tom colt has seven career wins and $43,501 in earnings and is trained by Bobbie Jo Brewer. I Stand Alone As (Aaron Merriman) opened with 5-1 odds. Trained by Anette Lorentzon, the Enterprise gelding won a division in the first and third legs. Nelli Up (Kayne Kauffman) and Tommy Count (Ronnie Gillespie) have morning line odds of 6-1 and 10-1, respectively. Nelli Up was a winner in the second leg, and Tommy Count posted a victory in the first leg. Ryan Miller and Deborah Swartz are their respective trainers.

Three winners from prior legs — Born To Trot, Full Moon Howl, and Shoot Some Hoop — are in the third division. Full Moon Howl (Luke Ebersole) is the early 5-2 favorite. Trained by Jessica Smith, the Full Count gelding won a division of the second leg in a lifetime-best 1:56.1 and has 15 wins and $94,711 in earnings in 33 career starts. He will leave from post four next to Shoot Some Hoop (Chris Page) in post five. Shoot Some Hoop scored his first BSS victory of the season in a lifetime-best 1:56.2 in the third leg. The Ron Burke trainee shares 7-2 odds with Born To Trot (Noble) as co-second choice. Born To Trot’s BSS win came in the opening leg at Scioto in 1:56. He is trained by Swartz.

Whats Shakin, driven and trained by Gillespie, is the slight 7-2 morning line favorite in the first division ahead of three sons of Long Tom as 4-1 co-second choices in Along Came Tom (Noble), Amazing Tom (Brett Miller), and Long Rocky Road (Luke Hanners). Whats Shakin has three seasonal wins. In 18 career starts, the What The Hill gelding has five victories and $163,315 in earnings. Along Came Tom will leave from the rail. Trained by Swartz, he was a winner in the second leg in a lifetime-best 1:57.4 and a runner-up in the third leg. Amazing Tom was a runner-up in the second leg. The Dan Krebehenne trainee has 13 wins in 29 career starts with earnings of $69,841. Long Rocky Road will leave from the far outside. He was a runner-up in each of the first two legs and placed third in the third leg. The Tami Hartman trainee has seven wins in 24 lifetime starts with earnings of $64,013.

Rose Run Ari, who recorded a victory in the first and third legs of the BSS, is not entered in the fourth leg.
