Monticello, NY— Adam Moeykens drove three winners on the Tuesday (Jan. 23) harness racing card at Monticello Raceway, including the $6,500 Open pace with Sauvignon Bluechip (Art Major). His other victories came in race six with Trevor’s Ace (American Ideal) and race seven with Crazy Bad K (Big Bad John).
Three Grand (Gregory Merton) went for the early lead in the feature race, with Dirt On My Boots (Kyle Dibenedetto) following on the inside in second. As they came to the first quarter mile in :28.4, Dirt On My Boots stole the lead from Three Grand from the outside.
Dirt On My Boots led the way by a length, with Three Grand in the two hole. Reigning Deo (Michael Merton) followed in third as they passed the half mile in :58.3. Dirt On My Boots was holding on to the lead as they approached the three-quarter mile in 1:28.1. From the outside, Sauvignon Bluechip moved into second, leaving Three Grand racing in third.
In a tight photo finish, Sauvignon Bluechip got the victory by a head over Reigning Deo in 1:57.2. Three Grand finished in third.
