Monticello, NY— In her Monticello Raceway debut, Perfect Queen (American Ideal) captured the $5,400 harness racing pace over the 2-5 favorite Rose Run Woodrow on Thursday (Sept. 7).
A Good Chance A (Kyle Dibenedetto) left the gate first with Caviart Stetson (Thomas Merton) alongside in second and Rose Run Woodrow on the far outside in third. A Good Chance A was up front over Caviart Stetson in second and Rose Run Woodrow in third as they passed the quarter mile in :28.2.
In the stretch over to the half, A Good Chance A had the lead by a length and a quarter over Caviart Stetson. Greg Merton moved Rose Run Woodrow first over as they passed the half mile mark in :58.
Rose Run Woodrow went to challenge the leader from the outside and following second over was Perfect Queen. At the three-quarter mile in 1:26.3, Rose Run Woodrow had cleared to the lead while Bruce Aldrich Jr. with Perfect Queen made their way to the front from the outside.
Moving around the final turn, Perfect Queen was at the neck of Rose Run Woodrow. Bruce Aldrich Jr then drove her away to take the lead and cross the wire first in 1:55.3 winning with ease by three and one-quarter lengths. Rose Run Woodrow was second and Ideal Chance (Adam Moeykens) finished in third.

Perfect Queen, a 4-year-old mare, is owned and trained by Tiffany Barrett. She paid $8.10 to win.
