Tioga Downs to host NYSS Night of Champions

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) today has released the official approved schedules for the 2022 harness racing season, announcing that this season’s Finals will be hosted at Tioga Downs on September 10. Finals for the Excelsior Series will be held in Saratoga on September 11.

“The New York Sire Stakes program is excited for the upcoming season as some strong finishers return to race, and a new crop of standardbreds begin to make a name for themselves,” said Barry Sample, chairman, New York State Gaming Commission.

The Night of Champions will provide race purses of $200,000 each. Individual race purses for the Excelsior Finals have been approved for $50,000. All divisions feature seven preliminary legs.

The NYSS would also like to remind horsemen regarding the 2022 Horse Eligibility Payments. Payments for 2-Year-Olds and 3-Year-Olds must be made online or postmarked by Tuesday, February 16. To make your payment online, visit nysirestakes.com.
