Races for OSS eligibles coming to Northfield

Northfield, OH — To help fill the gaps between legs in the Ohio Sires Stakes (O.S.S.) calendar, MGM Northfield Park will add three overnight races for O.S.S. eligible harness racing sophomores in the coming weeks.

For Saturday night June 4 (draw Tuesday morning, May 31) , an event for O.S.S. eligible 3-year-old filly trotters will be written with a purse of $20,000 ($17,500 per division if two or more).

Events with the same conditions for O.S.S. eligible 3-year-old filly pacers and 3-year-old colt & gelding trotters will be written for Saturday night, June 11 (draw Tuesday morning, June 7), which is also the night of the $200,000 Battle of Lake Erie. The second leg of the O.S.S. for 3-year-old colt & gelding pacers will also be contested at Northfield that night.

A $35,000 Invitational for 4-year-old-and-up Ohio-sired pacing mares will also be contested on the Battle of Lake Erie undercard.
