Monticello, NY— The 4-5 favorite Roll With Shorty (Roll With Joe, Michael Merton) won the $4,900 harness racing pace at Monticello Raceway on Monday afternoon (Nov. 27).
Betting Hannah (Thomas Merton) left the gate first from the middle of the track. Roll With Shorty quickly took the lead, leaving Betting Hannah in second and Aberdeen Seelster (Adam Moeykens) in third as they reached the first quarter mile in :29.2.
Roll With Shorty had a length advantage as they came by the stands for the first time. Betting Hannah was in the pocket spot in second as they passed the half mile in :59.2.
From the outside, Lady Warrior (Jim Taggart Jr) moved to challenge Betting Hannah for second. Leading into the backstretch, Roll With Shorty still had the lead, with Lady Warrior in second and Betting Hannah in third. They passed the three-quarter mile in 1:29.1.
Roll With Shorty crossed the wire first in 1:59.1. Five lengths back, Come Zoom With Me (Bruce Aldrich Jr) came in second and Aberdeen Seelster finished in third.

Roll With Shorty is a 5-year-old mare trained by Ken Koch and owned by Thomas Milici. She paid $3.80 to win.
