Northfield, Ohio– Larry Ferrari bided his time and then rallied So Wishfull (Wishing Stone) to victory in the $8000 Great Lakes Amateur Drivers Association harness racing trot last night (June 12) at Northfield Park. They turned down seven others en route to a 1:57 victory.
Sent off at odds of over 9-1 from the four-hole Ferrari was content to follow cover as Pepin Collie (Allen Sisco) showed the way by the quarter in :28.3. Still in charge at the half in :58.3 Sisco’s trotter rebuffed challenges, first from Fulton’s Fury (Lauren Harmon) and then from the odds-on favorite, Tootie (Eddie Miller). But when Pepin Coolie trotted by the three quarters in 1:27.2 he was clearly in command but trouble was coming.
Despite drafting along in second place Go Go George and driver Darrell Rideout was concerned of So Wishfull, who Ferrari had in high gear, and together they rushed to the finish line. But Ferrari’s trotter was the strong
horse and he went on to a length triumph.
Go Go George was second best and Pepin Coolie finished third.
SO WISHFULL REPLAY
