HARRINGTON, DE – Mark Howard’s Square Deal (Heston Blue Chip) with driver Tony Morgan emerged from the pocket a harness racing winner in 1:52.2 in the featured $22.500 Free-For-All Tuesday (June 25) at Harrington Raceway.
The 4-year-old mare followed pacesetting favorite Shield Maiden most of the way before pulling the pocket near three-quarters and surging by the leader and prevailing by a length over Melody Hanover and Twin Delight. It was the second recent win in the class for the Will Reynolds trainee, who has banked nearly $75,000 this season. She took her lifetime best at Harrington on May 14 with a 1:51.4 score. Tonight, she paid $8.60 to win.

Cathy Spinella’s Need Ur Opinion (Warrawee Needy) with driver Allan Davis recorded her 15th win of the year, with a 1:55.3 win for trainer Phil Mitchell. She has the most wins this year of any USA standardbred, despite changing barns regularly as she has been claimed in seven straight starts. She paid just $2.10 to win.
