Lexington, KY — On Monday (Aug 22) Strong Poison (Always B Miki-Fiyonce) injected her rivals with a bit a venom as Yannick Gingras was along for the ride in the sole $80,000 third round of Kentucky Championship series harness racing division for 2-year-old pacing fillies at Red Mile in 1:49.3.
The afternoon card also included a $30,000 third round leg of the Kentucky Commonwealth series and two $15,000 Golden Rod series for freshman pacing fillies.
Strong Poison collected her second win of the series and the third of her career for conditioner Ron Burke. Devilish Dreams (Todd McCarthy) checked in second and Caviart Marcella (Andrew McCarthy) was third.
Strong Poison assumed control at the half-mile pole in :54.2 after settling in second for the first-quarter mile behind Cantgetuoutamind (Andy Miller) set the tone off the gate. The filly then just kept her mind on business as she clicked off fractions of :28.1 and :27 flat to secure victory.

Owned by Burke Racing Stable, J&T Silva Stables, Knox Services and Beasty LLC, the filly was bred by Steve Stewart, Charles Nash and Julie Nash.
She now sports a resume of 6-3-1-1-0 and has collected $104,000 in her career.

Kentucky Commonwealth Series
Hungry For Love (Stay Hungry-Lover Of Art) collected her fourth lifetime victory and established a new lifetime mark of 1:50.4 with new driver Joey Putnam guiding the way in the Commonwealth series division for 2-year-old filly pacers. The filly has now banked $80,000 while under the tutelage of trainer Ron Burke.
Queen’s Reign (Andy Miller) was second and Seashell (Andrew McCarthy) was third.
HUNGRY FOR LOVE REPLAY

In the two $15,000 divisions for freshman filly pacers the winners were My Nay Nay (Captaintreacherous, Dexter Dunn) and Sugar Britches (All Bets Off, John MacDonald).
Sire stakes action continues at Red Mile on Tuesday (Aug. 23) with a post of 1 p.m. EST.
There is also a $10,000 guaranteed Pick-4 (races six through nine) in conjunction with the U.S. Trotting Association.
