Tokyo Seelster ($10.80) went straight to the front.Ā Ā Zapaca went on by and was first to the quarter in :26.4.Ā Ā He used a :29.0 second quarter to be first to the half in :55.4.Ā Ā Tokyo Seelster made his move first -over heading around the final turn.Ā Ā Zapaca led to three-quarters in 1:24.4.
As they reached the stretch second place finisher, Zapaca gave it everything he had but Tokyo Seelster wore him down to win in 1:53.4.Ā Ā Ongoing Royalty (Steeven Genois) finished third.
