Recently founded Kountry Lane Standardbreds enter the Lexington Select Yearling Sale starting on the 5th of October, full of long term confidence with five outstanding harness racing yearlings from there first crop of mares originally purchased at the White Birch dispersal sale in 2019.
The five harness racing yearlings are all consigned and raised by the outstanding team of Doug and Beth Yontz of Anvil And Lace Farm in central Kentucky.
Kountry Lane Standardbreds stated ambition is to raise and sell top quality yearlings for unreserved sale at all times.
In our previous article on Kountry Lane Standardbreds we covered Hip # 53 and today we present to the buyers two outstanding Captaintreacherous super bred yearlings, a filly and a colt.
Hip # 151 Shining Rocks – This Captaintreacherous filly is a half sister to top race mare Peaky Sneaky 1:48 ($730,101) and is from a race winning half sister to champion race mare and now broodmare Worldly Beauty 1:49.3 ($2,146,076) and Dan Patch 2 & 3 Year Old Of The Year.

To appreciate how great a race mare Worldly Beauty was, you only had to look at her last race winning start the $200,000 Lady Liberty at the Meadowlands. She raced against a field of great mares in this race including Eternal Camnation ($4,129,390), Bunny Lake ($3,068,733), Cathedra Dot Com ($1,643,142), Always Cam ($1,053,510) and Breeders Crown Champion Molly Can Do It ($890,582).

Hip # 176 Be The Captain – This Captaintreacherous colt is a full brother to three winners including Captain Victorious p3; 1:48.3f ($463,518) and is from a race winning full sister to the millionaire mare Lispatty 1:49.4 ($1,005,403) who in turn is out of half sister to World Champion O’Brien Older Pacing Horse Of The Year in 2006 and 2007, Lis Mara 1:47.3 ($2,141,661). Lis Mara is a three quarter brother to the dam of I Luv The Nitelife 1:48.4f ($1,944,667).
Therefore there are three millionaires close up in the pedigree of Be The Captain.

Kountry Lane Standardbreds have purchased some sensational mares of late including the fastest pacing mares of all time, the champion mare Shartin N 1:46.4 ($2,667,563). She is now in foal early to stallion sensation Captaintreacherous. The Breeders Crown winner Winndevie 1:53 ($863,257) now in foal to Gimpanzee, and one of the fastest trotting mares of all time Plunge Blue Chip 1:49.4 ($1,596,841) now in foal to Chapter Seven and Phaetosive 1:51 ($898,562).
Kountry Lane Standardbreds recently purchased a magnificent farm (background photo above) and equine facility in Wakarusa, Indiana to accommodate their roster of Champion mares. Kountry Lane Standardbreds yearlings are foaled and raised by Anvil and Lace Farms in Cynthiana, Kentucky owned Beth & Doug Yontz.
