Columbus, OH — The U.S. Trotting Association’s 2022 Board of Directors Annual Meeting is scheduled for Friday (March 11) through Sunday (March 13) at the Sheraton Columbus at Capitol Square.
Registration begins at 3 p.m. on Friday with the Marketing and Communications Committee meeting being first on the agenda beginning at 5 p.m.
Saturday’s schedule leads off with the Executive Committee at 9 a.m. followed by the General Opening Session at 10:30 a.m. Following the call to order by Chairperson Joe Faraldo, the pledge of allegiance and roll call, new Directors Steve Bateson (District 1) and Dr. Scott Woogen (District 11) will be introduced. Presentations from USTA President Russell Williams and Chairperson Faraldo will follow.
Next on the General Session agenda are reports from USTA Executive Vice President Mike Tanner and USTA Controller Dennis Fisher followed by sub-committee updates on the Standardbred Racing Investigative Fund, Standardbred Transition Alliance and The Ingram Group, the USTA’s lobbying group in Washington, D.C. The morning session concludes with a discussion of any other business.
At 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, the Annual Recognition Luncheon will feature presentation of the President’s Award as well as acknowledgement of Directors Jay Cross, Jacqueline Ingrassia and Dr. John Mossbarger for 20 years of service.
Saturday afternoon’s schedule includes meetings of the Racing, Registration and Finance Committees followed by the annual Welcome Reception sponsored by the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies and Van Gundy Insurance Agency starting at 6 p.m.
Sunday kicks off with a meeting of the Rules Committee at 9 a.m. followed by the General Closing Session starting at 11 a.m. where committee reports will be presented, the budget will be approved, and President Williams will give his closing remarks and announce the dates and location for the 2023 Board of Directors’ Meeting before adjournment.
