Donna di Quattro wins Prix le Parisen

October 16, 2015 – Bjorn Goop teamed 5.7/1 odds Donna di Quattro (5f Love You-Whoopie As-SJ’s Photo) to victory in this evening’s Q+ Prix le Parisen (purse €85,000, 2100 meters autostart, 17 European female starters) clocked in 1.12.6kr off rated fractions (1.13.7kr at 1000; 1.13kr at 500 meters to go).

The winner is trained by Sweden’s Tomas Malmqvist for Langebro Konsult AB.

3.3/1 Ninepoints Lucy (5f Spotlite Lobell-Lucky Kelly) was second for Gabriel Gelormini, trainer Jorgen Westholm and owner Bengt Johansson of Sweden.

Third was Alpine du Rib (5f Opium-Rockeuse du Rib) for teamster J-L-Cl Dersoir, trainer Joel Hallais and Ecurie Rib. Bahia Quesnot (4f Scipion du Goutier-Queen Ines) finished fourth for Tony Le Beller with fifth to Saphire Bi (4f Conway Hall-Valley Jean Bi) and Mathieu Abrivard.

The winner’s pedigree brings back fabulous memories as it’s the maternal family of Hambletonian winners Timothy T and Christopher T plus Oaks winner Cora T, all from Flicka Frost, fourth dam, through Why Indeed-Speedy Crown-Betsy Sue-Ayres-Flicka Frost.

The €65,000 purse Prix Theamis over 2850 meters attracted 18 European starters and driver Dominik Locqueneux recorded his third driving win this night with 3/2 favorite Viking Blue (6g Prodigious-Idole Blue) timed in a quick 1.12.9kr for trainer Yannick A. Briand. The winner held off 7/2 Quick Fix (6g From Above-Glued) and trainer/driver Lutfi Kolgjini for Tommy Nilsson Holding AB. 9/1 Tropic du Hetrc (8g Jasmin de Flore-Ixia de Perthuis) was a distant third for J-M Bazire. The close finishing top pair closed strongly off an honest pace (1.13.2kr at 1000 meters to go post; 1.13.3kr at 500 meters).

The three year-old males contested the Prix Arethasa for €52,000 purse this evening at Vincennes on the petit course. 13 participants battled over 2850 meters with the 1.14.8kr clocked winner being 3.3/1 odds Colbert d’Am (3m Goetmals Wood-Kalmie Melody) for reinsman Dominik Locqueneux. Lutfi Kolgjini trains the winner for Stall Courant AB. 122/1 outsider Colibri de Larre (3g Echo-Segesse de Larre) was second with 9/2 Classic de Viette (3m Look de Star-Squaw du Bouffey) third for Tony Le Beller.

The €42,000 purse Prix Cyrene over 2850 meters drew 14 starters with the 1.13.4kr winner being 6.9/1 odds Brice des Epines (4m Rolling d’Heripre-Polka des Brieres) driven by Dominik Locqueneux. Robert Bergh trains the winner for Johan Jansson Invest AB of Sweden. 4.2/1 Banjo de la Noemie (4g Flambeau des Pind-Prima de la Noemie) was second for J-Ph Monclin with 18/1 Bingoi de Blary third to the line.

The Prix Athamantis (purse €80,000, monte 13 European starters, 2850 meters) went to 19/1 Americaine (5f Chef du Chatelet-Marine Raudiere) with Antoine Wiels up for trainer J-P Marmion. Clocked in 1.13.7kr the winner scored over 3/2 favorite Asca Bot Eur Moel (5g Pagalor-Cova du Niel) and 6/1 Boris des Domits over the 1-3/4 mile distance.

Dista Love (3f Royal Dream-Usita Love-Goetmals Wood) took the Prix Aludra (purse €38,000, 2200 meters, two year-old fillies, 10 starters) on disqualification. Timed in 1.17.6kr the winner recorded her first career victory in her second start for driver/owner Jean-Pierre Dubois and trainer Yves Boireau as the 3/2 odds favorite. The winners’ dam is a daughter of Carmensite 2:01.3v (US$117.564) the dam of ten winners in 13 foals including  five with life earnings above US$90,000. Detailesmie Merite (2f Mage de la Merite-Netoilesmie) was second for Yoann Lebourgeois with 3.1/1 Doris de Bailly third for Franck Ouvrie.

Saturday action is at Caen that hosts the featured €80,000 purse Gr. III Prix de la Ville de Caen over the marathon 4400 meter distance handicapped course. 18 will start including Nahar that received a 50 meter penalty and receiving 25 meter handicaps are Beckman, Udayama and Tornado Bello.
