YONKERS, NY, Friday, October 13, 2017– If you can't find a seat at the track, find one in front of the TV. Saturday afternoon's (Oct. 14th) harness racing million-dollar Yonkers International Trot @ Empire City Casino shall be broadcast by SportsNet New York (SNY).
The home of the Mets is also the home of the 39th edition of the trotting classic, picking up the Raceway's simulcast show from 3:30-4:15 PM. Prior to the International (9th race, post time 4 PM), fans can watch the $250,000 Harry Harvey Invitational Trot (8th race, post time just after 3:30 PM).
Both races feature 10 trotters at the mile-and-a-quarter distance.
The 45-minute broadcast offers the insights of the author and Standardbred Owners Association of New York Vice President Peter Venaglia, while Empire City's Clare Galterio goes behind the scenes with some of the International Trot participants.
First post for Yonkers' 11-race, all-stakes, $3.3 million (a New York harness record) program is 1 PM. The card also includes the $1.8 New York Day of Champions and a pair of the $250,000 Invitationals, the Harry Harvey Trot (see above) and Dan Rooney Pace (7th race).
