Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel played host to a new Mini Series for Kentucky Sire Stake or Fair Stake eligible 3 year-old trotters on November 4.
Eight trotting fillies lined up behind the gate on a warm, sunny fall afternoon in the first of the two $15,000 elimination races. Graceful Winner with driver Elliott Deaton got up in time to beat Delovely Hall and driver Randy D Crisler by 3/4 of a length in 1:54.4. The 3 year old daughter of Manofmanymissions is trained by Anette Lorentzon and is owned by Kentuckiana Racing Stable.
The second class, for 3 year old colt trotters saw Elliott Deaton steer Some Chapter to a wire to wire win in 1:55.3. The gelding by Chapter Seven dug in to hold off Golden Genes with driver Kyle Wilfong by 3/4 of a length to earn the victory for trainer Anette Lorenzton and owners Acl Stuteri Ab and Kjell Johansson.
The $25,000 finals will be held on November 15th.
