Leading reinsman Greg Sugars added yet another Group 1 to his cap with outstanding colt Always Hot (Always B Miki) who powered to win the $100,000 Always B Miki Vicbred for two year old colts and geldings at Melton last night. Always On a well supported favourite maintained his unbeaten harness racing record now having won four on end.Ā
The win was Emma Stewartās fourth Group 1 for the night and she also trained the first four placings which was a remarkable achievement.Ā
From the word go the pace was on with second favourite The Highland Reel holding out the lead. Sugars sat back in the field but then sent Always Hot around the field to charge to the lead with just over a lap to run.Ā
From then on the free wheeling Always Hot moved away on the final bend and although getting a little tired held on to beat Go Miki and Fox Dan who both had easy runs in the race and were doing their beset work at the finish. From the beaten division the eye catching run was outsider New Shuffle who was forced to race outside the leader and finished just on six metres from the winner.

While Emma Stewart has a talented team of exceptional two year olds, Always Hot gives the impression that he could be the star in the future classic races remaining for the season.
