Toronto, ON – A major harness racing upset took place at Wolf Downs Monday night as Doc's Fella won the Open Pace at odds of 50-1 and paid $102.00 to win.
Driven by Garnet Barnsdale for owner/trainer Adriano Sorella of London, Doc's Fella was last in the field of eight before the final turn when Barnsdale took the five-year-old gelded son of Most Happy Fella three-wide.
In a wild cavalry charge to the wire, Doc's Fella was able to put a nose up in the final strides to the wire in defeating Happy Motoring with Adios Butler third in a dead heat with Bret Hanover. The time of the one mile race was 1:48.1.
It was the fourth straight win for Doc's Fella and the highest win price of the 2021 race meet at Wolf Downs.
