CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – With the quickest win time on the program, Elm Grove Kaboom will look to capitalize on his rail control in the Saturday evening featured event at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The 12-dash Saturday program kicks off at 6 P.M. with the race 12 feature fielding eight entries and will also play host to the ongoing $100,000 Dash For Cash promotion.
Two lucky patrons who spend $10 or more on a single wager will have their names drawn and get a chance to correctly select the complete order of finish in the Saturday evening finale. If all right horses are picked in the correct order, the patron will win the $100,000 jackpot prize.
Elm Grove Kaboom vies to be on top of that ballot fresh off a 1:54.4 victory for trainer Bo Ford and owners Larry and Kathy Chappell of Marshfield. Walter Cheverie gets the catch driving call on the majority of the Ford stable for the Saturday card including Elm Grove Kaboom.
Cartoon Daddy draws away from the tougher company he has been keeping this week and gets post 3 with Kenny Arsenault at the line for trainer Rachel Andrew. The six-year-old stallion son of Art Major was a finalist in the $25,000 Governor's Plate final at Red Shores Summerside last month.
Weekend At Nannies will be the rookie in the field as the three-year-old son of Western Paradise finds a break from stakes competition but draws post 6 for driver Mike McGuigan. Other entries include Perfect Escape (Driven by Gilles Barrieau), Old Buck (David Dowling), Diggin In (Gordie Hennessey), Tobinator (Corey MacPherson) and Winter Blast (Jason Hughes).
Sodwana Bay will put her undefeated streak to the test again Saturday in the $2,350 Fillies and Mares Open pace carded as race 9 on the program.
Trained and driven by Gilles Barrieau, Sodwana Bay has won six straight races since relocating to Prince Edward Island for owners Wayne MacRae of Fall River, N.S., and Howmac Farms Ltd., of North Wiltshire. Other top entries include Collective Wisdom (Ron Matheson) and Ramblinglily (Ken Murphy).

Bearcats Clash Sunday At Summerside
SUMMERSIDE, PE – The top aged pacers on the Eastern Seaboard of Canada will converge on Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway on Sunday afternoon for Invitaional pacing action.
The Prince County oval will play host to 13-dashes Sunday with a 1 P.M. start time including a $4,000 Invitational pace with a field of eight talented pacers in the finale. Governor's Plate champion Czar Seelster will leave from the coveted post 1 with Kenny Arsenault at the line for trainer Todd Weatherbee and owner Tammy Johnston of Vernon Bridge.
The nine-year-old son of Stonebridge Regal was a 1:53.2 winner over this track last month but was defeated in his last two outings by Rose Run Quest, who leaves from post 2 in this Sunday afternoon field. Gilles Barrieau gets the call on Rose Run Quest for trainer Bo Ford after winning the $7,500 Exhibition Cup Invitational at Truro Raceway in Nova Scotia on July 21.
Regular pilot Marc Campbell then returned to the lines of Rose Run Quest for a 1:54.4 victory last Saturday in Charlottetown but Campbell will be off-Island for stakes commitments for Sunday's program.
Post 3 has in the Invitational pace has Mr Irresistible with Corey MacPherson at the lines for trainer Jennifer Doyle. The son of Mister Big will look to add to the over $12,000 bankroll he has accumulated this season.
Adkins Hanover gets post 4 this week with Ambyr Campbell at the controls for trainer Trevor Hicken with his last race ending with a fourth place finish in Rose Run Quest's 1:54.4 mile.
Euchred will be looking for revenge on his top end foes from post 5 on Sunday afternoon after making being out for duration of the mile in the Exhibition Cup and finishing a well beaten seventh. The Shadow Play pacer has been a dominant force on the East Coast scene all season and will get trainer Terry Gallant at the lines this week.
Keep Coming leaves from post 6 for driver Dale Spence and trainer Brian Andrew while Do Over Hanover has post 7 with Jason Hughes in the seat for trainer Chris MacKay.
In Spades has shown his best racing comes from the front end but is burdened with post 8 in his Sunday contest. Austin Sorrie trains and drives the talented pacer who also has not raced since the Exhibition Cup on July 2 after finishing second in that event.
