Right Moves, a daughter of the multiple European Group 1 winner The Best Madrik, and one of his first Australian harness racing crop, hoisted a fresh lifetime mark of 1:56.9 for the flying mile at Menangle.

The Best Madrik.

Starting from the outside gate, the mare settled down second last before launching a three-wide bid at the 1500 metre mark. After reaching the lead on the home turn, the mare kept her challengers at bay with a slick 56.9 seconds last 800.

It was her seventh lifetime success and sent her stake earnings over the $50,000 mark.

The Best Madrik, a son of Coktail Jet, has left four winners from four live foals in Australia.

Coktail Jet’s champion son Love You, the leading sire of three-year-old trotters in Australia this year, sired ‘new’ winners on both sides of the country recently.

So Vogue, a two-year-old filly by Love You, captured a NSW Foundation Series heat at Menangle, while the three-year-old filly Luvaflair was a runaway winner at Gloucester Park.

Quaker Jet, Love You’s richest son, left two winners from his first crop in Victoria this week in Electrojet, who won a heat of the Sweetheart Series at Maryborough, and Night Whisperer, who overcame a 10 metre handicap to score at Bendigo.

Hopeful Beauty, a French-bred daughter of new Haras Des Trotteurs sire Brillantissime, maintained her devastating form with a convincing win in the Sweetheart Final at Melton.

Sent to the top in the middle stages, Hopeful Beauty unleashed a 58.9 last 800 to soundly trounce her rivals. It was her third win from her last five outings.

Brillantissime, The Best Madrik, Love You and Quaker Jet are members of the star-studded Hares Des Trotteurs’ sire roster at Cardigan, near Ballarat, Victoria.
