Jenny Lake (Leon Bailey) and Chatelroll (Frank Affrunti) each grabbed the co-features at Vernon Downs on Saturday (June 12). Bailey drove four winners on the card.
Jenny Lake ($4.30) cruised in winning the $7,000 Open Trot.
Jenny Lake went straight to the lead and hit the first quarter first in :27.3. Muscle Ave (Steeven Genois) came first-up to challenge on the back stretch.
Jenny Lake led to the half in :57.1. She shook free after hitting three-quarters in 1:26.1.
As they made the turn for home Majestic Fire (Dan Daley) made his move going after Jenny Lake.
Credit List (Justin Huckabone) then made a late bid in deep stretch but it was too late and he had to settle for second as Jenny Lake was too strong and won in 1:54.4.
Majestic Fire was third best.

Jenny Lake is a 5-year-old mare by RC Royalty. She is trained by Paul Minckler for owners Carol Namiotka and Ed Namiotka Jr. She is three for three in 2021. She now owns 20 career victories.
Chatelroll ($5.50) guns down Rollinlikethunder (John MacDonald) to capture the $7,000 Open Pace.
Rollwiththunder darted right out to the lead hitting the first quarter in :27.1. He was first to the half in :56.0. Rock This Way (Dan Daley) made a first-over move to challenge around the final turn.
Rollinwiththunder held on to lead to three-quarters in 1:24.2. Chatelroll was fourth
at three-quarters and came three-wide as they made the turn for home.
He traded blows with second place finisher, Rollwiththunder, but blew right on by in deep stretch to win in 1:51.3.
Bruce’s Magic (Leon Bailey) came up to snag third.
CHATELROLL REPLAY
Chatelroll is a 4-year-horse by Roll With Joe. He is owned by the Purple Haze Stables and trained by George Ducharme. It was his fourth win of the season. He now has 15 career victories.
Bailey’s other wins came with Lady Newton ($2.20), Nesh Cruiser ($6.60),
and Jericho Willie ($2.50).
