Vernissage Grif wins Jamtlands Stora Pris

Vernissage Grif (7m Varenne-Dalia Grif-Park Avenue Joe) rallied to score easily timed in 1.11.3kr in this 2021 edition of the Jamtlands Stora Pris (Gr. II Intermational, 700,000Sek first prize, 2140 meters autostart) at Ostersund, Sweden.

Off at 4.3/1 odds the Alessandro Gocciadoro trained and reined performer won for the 25th time in his 90 race career. He is two for four in 2021 for owner Riccio Gennaro and now has 4,847,370Sek earned. The 7.9/1 Wild Love (7f Love You-Twins Vilda-Dreamaster) was second with Kevin Oscarsson up for trainer Anders Lindqvist and owner Simbergs Havslageri AB.

The 42.6/1 outsider Click Bait (5m Cantab Hall-Fun At Parties-Lindy Lane) was third for Per Lennartsson and trainer Stefan Melamnder. Brother Bill, Missle Hill, Bahia Quesnot and Upset Face completed the top seven. The 4.3/1 Hail Mary raced on the lead before stopping badly toward the end to finish unplaced.

On the undercard was the STL Silver and 2.6/1 odds Upstate Face (5g Joke Face-Staro Borderline-Varenne) was an easy 1.09.5kr timed winner for trainer/drive Adrian Kolgjini. This was his fourth 20921 win in nine starts. Vikens High Yield (7g Love You) was second for Robert Bergh and stablemate Van Gogh Z.S. (7g Love You) took third with Per Lennartsson teaming the Bergh trainee.

The USA qualifiers at Meadowlands saw Venerate (3m Love You) score impressively timed in 1:52.3 for the mile with a sharp :26.3 final quarter. He is the early Hambletonian favorite. Southwind Tyrion (3m Muscle Hill) was third in this race timed in 1:53.4 in this his first 2021 appearance
