Galleria Gal surpassed a quarter-million dollars in earnings as she won the Yonkers Raceway harness racing feature pace on Wednesday after moving to the front twice.
The mare streaked to the early lead from post three for Jim Marohn Jr., who hit the 5,000 win mark in the night prior. A parked out Sound Idea zipped to the topunder frantic asking from Brent Holland, but Galleria Gal made that foeās lead brief with a prompt re-take at the quarter mile pole, which they reached in :27.3.
Galleria Gal paced through the middle stations in :57.2 and 1:25.3. Somebeachsomefra (Joe Bongiorno) advanced first-over to the leaderās saddlecloth nearing three-quarters, but Galleria Gal spit her out and completed the victory in 1:54 without a challenge from any other rival.
Laurie Lee (Jordan Stratton) flew late for second but was still two and a half lengths behind at the finish. Somebeachsomefra took show. A $2 win ticket returned $4.20.
