Harry G was first-up from five-eighths in the re-opening harness racing feature at Truro Raceway on Sunday, and the four-year-old emerged victorious from a three-horse finish.
Driver Ernest Laffin secured him the pocket spot heading into the first turn, and they bided their time as American Risk (Paul Langille) put up :27.1 and :56.1 opening fractions in front of them. Laffin right-lined Harry G as the field of six turned for the backstretch and grinded down American Riskās lead through the third quarter, which they finished in 1:25.3.
Harry G drew level on the home turn and established a lead of his own at headstretch. He repelled a closing Imalookertoo (Daniel Romo) and finished his victory in 1:55. Imalookertoo came within three quarters of a length as he finished second. American Risk took show. The win price was $2.90.

Harry G, a four-year-old son of Rollwithitharry, has now won three of six in 2021. Heās 12-for-33 lifetime and has earned $56,312. Duncan Gillis trains him for Christina Gillis of Campbellville.
Darren Crowe, Langille, and Bernard McCallum earned driving doubles. Langille and McCallum also took two as trainers.
Truro Racewayās next card is scheduled for Sunday, Jun. 27. The Truro, Nova Scotia oval started its meet on Apr. 25, but it had to cancel its next six weeks of racing due to a government-imposed COVID-19 shutdown. The track hosted a day of qualifiers on Jun. 13 as “practice races.”
